Gay Nightlife in Patong
Phuket’s gay nightlife is centred around Paradise Complex in Patong, the only concentrated gay bar district south of Bangkok. It’s just 4 km from Phuket Gay Homestay, making it quick and easy to reach by Grab or Bolt taxi.
With around 30 venues, you’ll find everything from laid-back pubs to late-night clubs. Popular spots include:
Zag Club – Energetic and fun with a big crowd.
Boat Bar – One of the island’s long-running favourites.
Cruise Club – A new 2025 cabaret show bar in the old Boat Bar location.
Come sunset, Paradise Complex starts to fill with energy. The bars warm up early, while clubs usually come alive closer to midnight.
Saturday Gaythering - A Phuket Original
Not everyone wants loud music and drag shows every night. Every Saturday from 5–10 PM we host Saturday Gaythering – a friendly, chilled dinner and swim at Phuket Gay Homestay.

Gay Saunas in Phuket
Phuket’s sauna scene has changed in recent years.
- Aquarius Sauna (Patong) – The main option today, popular with tourists.

Getting Around Phuket
Taxis & Apps – Grab and Bolt are the main taxi apps. Bolt is often cheaper, while Grab is also popular for food delivery with over 3,000 restaurants listed. Both apps include motorbike taxis.
Motorbike Rental – You’ll need a motorbike licence from your home country plus an international driving licence. Always check that your travel insurance covers riding before renting.
SmartBus – A new air-conditioned SmartBus line with WiFi will soon run between Patong and Phuket Town.
